Beating top-10 teams has become something Heavener’s girls can hang their hat on.
For the third time in less than two weeks, the Lady Wolves knocked off a ranked team, downing Hartshorne, ranked ninth in Class 2A, after previously knocking off Pocola and Whitesboro.
The Lady Wolves came back from an 18-point deficit in the first quarter and defeated the Lady Miners, 53-47.
Heavener’s boys completed the sweep in the late game, trailing until 4:18 was left before downing the Miners, 71-63.
Heavener is back home again Tuesday against Talihina in Black Diamond Conference games.
Girls
Heavener continued to cut into Hartshorne’s lead before clinching the game in the final two minutes.
Heavener, now 14-3, was led by Lexy Chick with 14 points. Milaya Riddley had 12 and Carly Watkins scored 11.

Boys
Heavener finally took the lead with 4:18 left on a basket by Landon Thurman, then got some clutch play down the stretch from Bryce Morrison and Gunnar McAlester to seal the victory.
Heavener, now 9-9, was led by Thurman with 23 points. Morrison had 20 and McAlester finished with 17.
Hartshorne drops to 9-8.
