Obituary for Jody Cripps

Viola “Jody” Joanne Cripps, 72, of Heavener was born Dec. 15, 1948 in Heavener to Joseph Lewis and Dolphine Ida (Dorsey) Massey and passed away on June 14, 2021 in Heavener.

Funeral service is 10 a.m. Friday at Heavener First Baptist Church with Brother Sam Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in Ellis Chapel Cemetery in Wister, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Jody was a long-time resident of the area and a retired CNA. She was a member of the Heavener First Baptist Church. Jody loved listening and singing all kinds of music and spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Jody will be missed by all whom loved and knew her.

She is survived by three daughters Audrea Page and husband Bobby of the Hontubby Community, Mary Anne Davis and husband Steve of the Haw Creek Community, and Sarah Cripps and wife Ashley of Clarksburg, West Virginia; three sons Raymond Nathaniel Cripps of the Hontubby Community, Duston Joseph Cripps and wife Sabrina of the Hontubby Community and Matthew Carl Cripps of the Hontubby Community; one sister Carla Pryor of Claremore; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Cripps; one sister, Ruby Luman; and five brothers, Lewis, Raymond, David, Joe, and Carl Massey.

Pallbearers are Kyle Page, Dakota Cripps, Logan Davis, Derek Davis, Justin Davis, Hank Williams and Gus Williams.

Honorary pallbearers are Jesse Williams and Justin Page.

Viewing will be from noon to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home. The family will have visitation with friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
