The daily blog 5-24-2021
Good morning and welcome to the daily blog for May 24.
This is the 144th day of 2021 and there are 221 days left in the year.
I had posted a new picture the last couple of days and planned to do that every day, but forget to take a picture yesterday. So instead, you get a picture from a year ago, according to Facebook.
The ugly guy on the right is one Craig Hall. The pretty girl in the back is Khloe the Granddaughter and there is a frog on my chest. Not really sure, one of those grandchild things, I am positive. I am also proudly wearing a Heavener Wolf Pup t-shirt.
Kind of warm and actually humid yesterday. I did a little work on Trish the Wife’s tomato bed, putting fencing on it to keep Molly the Dog out, and alas, sweat! And that grungy feeling of being sweaty.
Khloe went swimming. I considered swimming for a few seconds until I got both feet wet and I realized the water is a tad too chilly for my tastes so I retreated. Quickly.
The weather is not supposed to be as warm today. In fact, temperatures are supposed to have highs in the 80s every day this week. Maybe that will warm the pool up enough so it can be used by people who are not children.
LeFlore County commissioners meet this morning in their weekly get together. Correspondent Ken Milam will have the report later in the day.
Our Blast from the Past for today is a picture of Claude Stanley from Stanley Hardware in 1970. Heavener has lost a bunch of businesses over the years, but not having Stanley Hardware is one of the top three. Claude had everything and was always glad to help you find something.
Memorial service for Randy Martindale of Howe is 10 a.m. Tuesday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener. He was born Feb. 21, 1957 and passed away May 20.
Graveside services for Bobby Edwards are Monday at 11 a.m. at the Old Bokoshe Cemetery.
Services for Sharon McNoel are at 2 p.m. at Mallory-Martin Chapel in Spiro. Also, funeral services for Chiverle Raymond are 2 p.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau
