Active cases drop to 16 in county

Coronavirus numbers continue to drop in LeFlore County.
The county currently has 16 active cases, down from hundreds at the peak in the winter. Poteau has four active cases, Shady Point three while Howe and Wister each have two. No other city in the county has more than one.
Overall, there have been 5,492 cases in LeFlore County, although the number is expected to be higher than the reported figure. There have been 5,412 recoveries and 64 deaths from complications due to the virus in the county.
Oklahoma had only 2,354 active cases in the latest report May 8 by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
The state has had 449,902 cases with 6,832 deaths from complications due to the virus and 26,014 hospitalizations.
Oklahoma has had 1,236,048 prime doxes given, 1,036,513 people have completed the series and 2,721,002 doses have been administered.
