Lions punch ticket to state

HOWE – Friday was a good day for Howe’s baseball team.
The Lions defeated Panama, 11-2, to complete an undefeated run through the Class 2A regional, set a school record with 30 wins and qualified for the state tournament for the first time.
The seniors also went through graduation ceremonies later that evening.
Howe improved to 30-6 and will play in the 2A state tournament Thursday at Dolese Park in Oklahoma City at a time and against an opponent to be determined.
Panama advanced to the championship game by defeating Latta for the second straight day Friday, 19-16.
The Razorbacks finish with a 16-14 record.
