HOWE – Howe went 2-0 Thursday in a Class 2A baseball regional to move one win away from the state tournament.
The Lions defeated Wyandotte in the opener, 1-0, before rallying past Panama in the winner’s bracket finals, 10-8.
Howe plays the winner of the early game Friday between Panama and Latta at 3:30 p.m. If Howe wins, the Lions will go to the state tournament next week.
If the Lions lose, the “if” game is Saturday.
Panama and Latta play again at 1 p.m. Friday. The winner plays again against Howe at 3:30 p.m. while the loser is eliminated. The two teams played Thursday with the Razorbacks getting a 5-4 win with a bases loaded walk in the eighth inning providing the winning run.
