SPIRO – Spiro swept Marietta in the bi-district tournament Tuesday to advance to the Class 3A regional tournament next week.
The Bulldogs (28-7) won the opener, 21-0, before completing the sweep with a 17-0 victory. Marietta finishes at 0-22.
Spiro did not allow a hit in either game.
In the opener Braden Riggs went four innings with six strikeouts and two walks.
Riggs led the Bulldogs’ offense going 3-3 with four runs and two RBI, Conner Rodgers homered and went 2-4 with two runs and a RBI, Hunter Sparks also homered and went 2-3 with five RBI and a run, Gannon Shackleford tripled and doubled while going 2-3 with three runs, Bryan Hammontree doubled and went 2-4 with two RBI and two runs and Nick Johnson had a double in a 2-2 outing with three RBI and three runs.

In the second contest, Cayden Mangham threw a four-inning no-hitter and banged a grand slam for Spiro.
Mangham struck out eight and walked two.
At the plate, Mangham was 2-3 with five RBI and two runs and Riggs doubled while going 1-2 with three RBI and three runs. Spiro only had four hits, but had nine walks and Marietta had five errors.
