Top four seeds win openers in LCT

POTEAU – The top four seeds in the slow pitch softball LeFlore County Tournament had fairly easy wins on opening day Monday.
Top-seeded Heavener won over Poteau, 15-3; second-seeded Whitesboro downed Panama, 13-5; No. 3 Howe edged LeFlore, 13-9; and fourth-seeded Pocola ran away with a 19-6 win over Wister.
In first-round games, Poteau beat Cameron/Talihina, 10-4; Panama pounded Spiro, 15-3; and LeFlore got past Arkoma, 13-4.
