Flood warning issued for Poteau River

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Poteau River near Panama through Saturday evening.

At 8:30 p.m. Thursday, the stage was 26.7 feet. Flood stage is 29 feet with the river expected to rise to a crest of 31 feet Friday afternoon.

The river is expected to drop below flood stage early Saturday afternoon. Williams Road, east of Panama, is flooded.
