Representatives question medical marijuana ordinance

Two representatives from the Stash Box, a medical marijuana establishment in Heavener, had questions and observations about the City of Heavener’s new medical marijuana establishments at Thursday’s City Council meeting.

Present were Mayor Max Roberts along with council members Melinda Ballantine and Gail Nichols.

Brandy Akins, the owner of the Stash Box, and Michelle Ashford, the manager, mentioned some of the problems with the new ordinance and that some of the ordinances were in conflict with the state laws.

The pair have started petitions asking for changes, including being able to be open on Sunday, which is against Heavener’s ordinance.
