LeFlore County commissioners discussed the possibility of blocking off the top portion of Cavanal Hill during inclement weather.
County Emergency Management Director Dennis Yochum said the plan would be to install a gate just past Kemp and lock it to protect the public during hazardous weather or other emergencies.
LeFlore County only had one new coronavirus case in Monday’s report by the Oklahoma State Department of Health.
Arkoma had the one case. Active cases are 112, down from 120 Sunday.

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma was recognized by the Oklahoma Blood Institute on March 9 for outstanding service to communities across southeast Oklahoma.
The Choctaw Nation and the Oklahoma Blood Institute have worked together on local blood drives for several years. Whole blood and plasma are routinely given by Choctaw Nation employees throughout the region about every six weeks.

Funeral services for Patsy Hull, 77, is 10 a.m. Thursday at the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel with private burial to follow in the Cowlington Cemetery.
She was born June 17, 1943 and passed away March 14, 2021.
Anna Lee Davis, 85, of Spiro, passed away March 13, 2021 and was born Dec. 18, 1935 in Russellville, Arkansas to Fletcher and Rosa Lee (Taylor) Harris.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Spiro with Brother Raymond Lee Davis and Brother Ed Marks officiating with burial at Old Cache Cemetery in Keota
Funeral services for Daphna Colleen Hopkins, 85, of Roland are Thursday at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Phil McGehee officiating.
She passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas and was born Oct. 25, 1935 in Eula, Arkansas
