HOWE – James Elton Lott, Jr., 64, of Howe, was born March 7, 1956 in Magee, Mississippi to James Lott, Sr. and Ruby Hudson and passed away Feb. 26, 2021 in Howe.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener with Bro. Jeff Dodd officiating. Burial will follow in the Loving Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
James was a long-time resident of the area and a retired oilfield worker. He was kind and loving, and never met a stranger that didn’t become family or friend to him. James loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed by many.
Surviving family members are his wife, Jody Lott, of the home; his mother, Ruby Hudson, of Columbia, Mississippi; two daughters Ruby Jo Lott of Poteau and Cindy Jernigan of Wister; three sons Mickah Shawn Lott of Columbia, Mississippi, Richard Ely Lott of Howe and Justin Keith Waits of Poteau; five sisters Mary Ann Verret Lafayette, Louisiana, Debra Green of Columbia, Mississippi, Lynn Carroll of Columbia, Mississippi, Katie Mays of Tennessee and Sherly Hudson of Columbia, Mississippi; two brothers Audie Hudson of Columbia, Mississippi and Philip Hudson of Texas; four grandchildren Kassidy Jernigan, Corbin Merklin, Emma Jamerson and James Jamerson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends whom loved him very much.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Lott Sr.; his step-father, Richard Hudson; a son, James Elton Lott, III; and a daughter, Jimmy Jeanie Lott.
Pallbearers are Justin Waits, Richard Lott, Kasandra Thurman, Kenny Jamerson, Sarah Lawson and Cindy Jernigan.
Viewing is from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
