Betty Jane (Bell) Mitchell passed away on Feb. 4, 2021, peacefully in her home at the age of 83. Betty was born in Wadesboro, Louisiana on Dec. 6, 1937 to Peter Paul Bell and Gladys Marie (Clayton) Bell, both of Louisiana.
Betty loved to sew, enjoyed traveling and reading her bible. She babysat and cared for many children over the years and was called Momma Betty by several.
Betty is survived by four sons Stan Cooper and wife Debbie, John Cooper, Tim Cooper and wife Lindsey, and Aaron Mitchell; four daughters Carolyn Pennel and husband Tommy, Sheila Johnson, Mary Parham and husband Scott, and Betty Jo Clark and husband Scott; 25 biological grandchildren; nine bonus grandchildren; over 100 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces & nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one son Randall Cooper and wife Jennifer; two grandsons Jason Harris and David Smith; husbands William “Bill” Cooper, Delmer Gregory and JC Mitchell; two brothers Jack Bell and George Bell; and two sisters Mary Perkins and Lillie Graham.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday at Tim’s home, where she resided. All friends and family are welcome to attend this drop in event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A private burial of cremations will be done with family at Monroe cemetery on a later date.
