Virus numbers drop in county



LeFlore County had 26 new coronavirus cases and the death of a Poteau woman in the 36-49 age group due to complications from the virus in Wednesday’s report by the Oklahoma Department of Health.

Poteau had six new cases, Talihina five, Spiro and Wister both had three, Bokoshe, Heavener and Howe had two, while Cameron, Pocola and Shady Point each had three.

The total cases have dropped. There have been 149 cases over the last week, an average of 21.2 per day. Last Wednesday, there had been 279 cases over the previous week, an average of 39 per day.

Active cases are 255, down from 262 Tuesday. The county has had 4,651 cases, 4,359 recoveries and 37 deaths due to complications.
