Judy Kay Mead, 62, of Heavener, was born Oct. 7, 1958 in Poteau to Clinton, Sr. and Barbara (Rockwell) Phipps and passed away Jan. 17, 2021 in Oklahoma City.

Graveside service is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hontubby Cemetery with Bro. Denton Mead officiating. Burial will follow in Hontubby Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Judy was a loan clerk for the First National Bank in Heavener and a member of Hodgen First Baptist Church. Judy was known for her love of stray animals, especially dogs and cats. She dearly loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by many whom loved and knew her. Judy was a loving wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Surviving family members are her husband, Von Mead, of the home; her mother, Barbara Phipps, of Hodgen; two sisters Jo Ann Reynolds and husband Tony of El Dorado, Arkansas, and

Jeanie Skillings and husband Chuck of Shawnee; one brother Clinton Phipps, Jr. and wife Judy of Hodgen; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clinton Phipps, Sr.

Judy will lie in state from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
