MENA, Ark. – Alma Jean (Cummings) Jones, 84, of Mena, Arkansas (formerly of Heavener) was born Aug. 1, 1936 in Heavener to Cecil and Grady (Pickle) Cummings and passed away Jan. 13, 2021 in Mena.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ron Tilley officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Alma was a homemaker and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Mena. She loved to camp and fish, was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving family members are a daughter Vickie Nash and husband Jimmy of Mena; two sons

Jimmy Jones and wife Mamie of Malvern, Arkansas, and Tim Jones and wife Brandy of Bauxite, Arkansas; one brother, Bill Cummings, of Prattsville, Arkansas; seven grandchildren Chris Nash and wife Amanda of Mena, Shawn Nash and wife La’Jennifer of Mena, and Charley Nash and Stephanie Nash of Mena, and Alivia Jones, Chanlier Jackson and Troy Hendrix all of Bauxite; 13 great-grandchildren Bailey McAnnelly and husband Alex of Corpus Christi, Texas; Lane Nash of New Orleans, Louisiana; Addison, Presley, Guinnivere, Gracie, and Casten Nash; Trinity, Christian, Wyatt Staggs; Elijah and Ezekiel Boyd all of Mena; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Leo Jones; an infant son, Tommy Lee Jones; three sisters Jewell West, Imogene Perdue and Joyce Buffington; and one brother, Herbert Cummings.

Pallbearers are Danny Bob Harris, Brian Clinton, Jimmy Dunigan, Steve Watts, Alford Watts and Mitch Shirley.

Viewing is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to service time Saturday. The family visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
