POTEAU – Poteau school board members discussed the continuing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students and employees at Monday’s monthly meeting.
The effectiveness of having virtual learning every other week was questioned.
Superintendent Don Sjoberg and other officials said older students have presented more of a problem, not doing the work assigned on virtual Fridays.
Sjoberg said surveys of teachers indicated they felt students performed better during in-class sessions, but the virtual Fridays helped the teachers cope with absentees and quarantined students.
No action was taken to change the current system.
