Alpine (Austin) Venaas, 92, of Hartshorne (formerly of Heavener) was born Nov. 2, 1928 in Bengal to Charley A. and Alice H. (Strickland) Austin and passed away Jan. 3, 2021 in Hartshorne.

Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday at the Family Praise and Worship Center in Heavener with Pastor Don Benefield officiating. Burial will follow in Red Oak Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.

Alpine was a retired provider. She enjoyed singing, quilting, and loved being with her family and friends. Alpine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

She is survived by four daughters Mary Day and husband Mark of Hartshorne, Alberta Davis and husband Clifton of Heavener, Josie Hudlow and husband Richard of Hartshorne, and Rosie Harris of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sons Eulan Colbert and wife Vickie of Tebbetts, Missouri, and Herman E. Venaas and wife Michaela of Fort. Smith, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon E. Venaas; a son, Charles G. Pace; and a great-great-granddaughter, Klisha Lucille Brown.

Pallbearers are Wyatt Pearl, Larry Paxton, Nick Rimer, Cody Day, Larry Day and Terry Sweet.

Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Hudlow, Richard Hudlow, Julian Ross, Mark Day, Eddie Day and Jordan Aumiller.

Viewing is from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
