Coronavirus cases continue to grow rapidly


LeFlore County had 77 new coronavirus cases in Saturday’s report by the Oklahoma Department of Health, the second most in a day.

The county had 85 cases in Thursday’s report. There was not a report for Friday due to the holiday.

Poteau had 22 new cases, Heavener and Talihina both had 12, Wister had 11, Spiro seven, Shady Point six, Howe three, Bokoshe and Panama two while Cameron and Pocola both had one.

The county has now had 3,657 cases with 3,157 recoveries and 29 deaths from complications due to the virus. Active cases are 445, up from 412 Thursday.
