Earl John Box, 85, of Summerfield, was born July 28, 1935 in Summerfield to Alvis and Alice (Shipman) Box and passed away Dec. 6, 2020 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Hank Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Summerfield Cemetery, under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener.
Earl was a life-long resident of the area and a retired auto mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters Jean Fetters of Wister, and Janice Loyd and husband Stanley of Summerfield; two step-daughters Charlene Judkins of Panama, and Sheryl and husband James of Kansas; four sons John Box and wife Jackie of Whitesboro, Jerry Box and wife Barbara of Cameron, James Box and wife Shelia of Arkoma, and Jackie Box and wife Barbara of LeFlore; four sisters Betsy Jones and husband Vernice of McAlester, Louise Loyd and husband Wylie of Stringtown, Lillian Oliver of Seminole and Irene Earls of Arizona; two brothers Delton Box and wife Joyce of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Robert Box and wife Janice of Nicut; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dola Box; his second wife, Judith Box; two sisters Lorene Macaroy and Viola Hopkins; two brothers Charles Box and Ladrell Box; and a granddaughter, Christine Pearson.
Pallbearers are Ricky Wheat, Stanley Loyd, Rodney Duncan, Paul Brown, Mike Poor and Dempsey Poor.
Honorary pallbearers are Brook Pearson, Sammy Sinclair, Jerald McBride and Carlos Henson.
Viewing is from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
