CASC regents approve stipend

POTEAU – Carl Albert State College regents approved a one-time $500 stipend for all faculty and staff members at a special meeting Thursday evening.

Regent Ron Lawson voiced concerns over granting the bonus when the college may be facing more budget cuts and a possible tuition hike next year, but ultimately joined the other board members in passing the motion unanimously.

Chief Financial Officer Brian Roberts said the stipends would total approximately $110,000, with about $30,000 of that covered by federal funds.
