County sets record for new cases


LeFlore County set a record for number of new coronavirus cases in Wednesday’s report by the Oklahoma Department of Health.

The total of new cases was 47, breaking the previous record of 40. Poteau had 22 new cases, Panama had five, Wister had four, Pocola, Spiro and Talihina each had three, Heavener and Howe had two, while Bokoshe, Cameron and Shady Point all had one.

The county currently has 270 active cases, up from 239 Tuesday. LeFlore County has now had 2,145 cases, 1,851 recoveries and 26 deaths from coronavirus or complications due to the virus.
