Coronavirus cases climbing steadily


LeFlore County had an additional 37 coronavirus cases in Friday’s report by the Oklahoma Department of Health.

Combined with the 35 cases Thursday, the 72 cases are the highest two-day total for the virus.

Poteau had an additional 10 cases, upping its two-day total to 25, Spiro had seven, Pocola and Wister both had six, Heavener added four, Shady Point had two, while Howe and Panama both had one.

Active cases are 211, up from 197 Thursday. The county has now had 1,896 cases, 1,660 recoveries and 25 deaths from coronavirus, or complications due to the virus.
