LeFlore County had 36 new coronavirus cases in Saturday’s report by the Oklahoma Department of Health, tied for second for the most new cases for a date.
The county has had 36 new cases in a day twice before. The record for new cases in a day is 41, set Sept. 8
Poteau and Talihina both had nine new cases, Heavener had six, Spiro five, Cameron three, while Pocola and Shady Point both had two.
Poteau continues to have the most new cases. The city has had 58 new cases over the last week and 83 in October.
The county now has 219 active cases, up five from Saturday.
LeFlore County has had 1,411 cases, 1,171 recoveries and 20 deaths from coronavirus or complications due to the virus. Only .01 percent of the cases are cited to have died from the virus or complications due to the virus.
